Janessa Mondestin, fitness professional and owner of Better Fit Body Lifestyle Services in New York City, offers fitness, nutrition and wellness. Jessica Sander’s love and passion for movement started at age 4 when she was enrolled in dance class. From that point forward she has always been in motion. Jessica continued to dance throughout her adolescence and then began teaching dance to others. Jessica went on the receive her BFA in Dance Performance and Education from Towson University. While dancing at Towson, Jessica realized the importance of cross training for dancers and athletes.
Kari is an NPC competitor, aspiring fitness model, and USP Labs sponsored athlete.
She has always enjoyed being physically active. Kari was a gymnast for 18 years. During her high school years, she was one of the top gymnasts in the country. She chose to continue her career in college was a member of the University of Michigan Women’s Varsity Gymnastic team. While on the team, she was a four time letter winner and four time Big Ten Champion.
After finishing her gymnastics career, Kari became a competitive weight lifter. She placed second in her first competition. This spiked her interest for strength and conditioning so she pursued an internship at the University of Michigan to work with Olympic sport athletes on building sport specific strength, power, and conditioning. During this same time, Kari thought that she would start personal training too. Her parents met at a gym, so it seems that this would be well fitting. She has always had a love for working out, so she wanted to share this with others that do not share the same interest. She fell in love with her job and has now been a trainer for almost 2 years.
Kari graduated with a B.S. in Movement Science from the University of Michigan. She also has her ISSA personal training certification and specializes in functional training, total body resistance training, Olympic lifting/sport conditioning, and naturally, core strength due to her 18 years of flipping around in gymnastics. She also can also help you to map out a nutritional plan that fits your lifestyle and goals. I was a natural born skinny – long neck, flat body and chicken legs. I weighted about 125lbs when i was in High School and stand 5 feet 6 1/2 inches tall. Through personal experience I’ve gained 35lbs-40lbs of muscles and able to look good with clothes on and off. I’ve put in my time to find what works and what doesn’t through trial and error. Each persons body is unique, so program design would have to be different as well. There is no one size fits all training program. I’ve came from a background of strength training and has grown to incorporate different workout philosophies and methods for different people, fitness levels and fitness goals. I was a pro-trainer at NYSC and Tier 3 Trainer at Equinox. My studies in sports medicine and my experience in personal training have laid the groundwork for my recent specialty, which is CES (Corrective Exercise Specialist). My intention is to help my clients to gain total body confidence and to improve their overall physical health.
I specialize with individuals with both minor andmajor injuries and/or ailments.
I have had the opportunity to practice my specialtyat the elite facility, La Palestra. There, I worked with chiropractors, nutritionists and doctors who specialized in diagnosing and correcting ailments and injuries.
My client list is diverse and I create a specific program for each person.

Founder and world-class fitness expert, Wayne Sims was born and raised in the midwest. A pre-med student, he studied Biology and received his Bachelors of Science degree from Indiana University. Shortly after graduating, he began working for Merck Human Health as a pharmaceutical sales representative. While medicine was his interest, he quickly realized fitness was his passion. He began his fitness career as a group exercise instructor at The Firm-Minneapolis. A former athlete and trained dancer, he became one of the most sought after instructors in the business, teaching master classes in Chicago and Los Angeles. In 1994 he was offered a teaching contract based in Munich, Germany which led to a 6 year career as an International Fitness Presenter touring major cities including: Manchester, Athens, Milan, Bologna, Gothenburg and Tokyo. Teaching to predominantly women at most conventions, the public demand to add personal training to his set of skills couldn’t be ignored. Understanding the importance of building strong rapport with clients, his personal training business grew rapidly. In addition, he spent 3 years based in Amsterdam, managing the group exercise department at Squash City, while making frequent appearances as a guest instructor at Pineapple Studios in London.
Wayne has trained all types of people, including men, however the majority have been women. Specializing in fitness for women became his primary focus due to a strong demand and his extensive experience training female clients. I am a New York City-based Certified Personal Trainer, NPC Nationally-Qualified Figure Competitor and Bootcamp Instructor. I started my career at an exclusive boutique gym in Arlington, VA before moving to New York City in 2008.
Since moving to New York, I worked at a large commercial gym but now work as an independent trainer with a broad client base including a Broadway performer, reality TV contestant, college athletes, fitness competitors, post-rehab clients and everybody in between!
I became interested in fitness and weight training after “retiring” from competitive swimming which I did for 11 years.
